Where Does your Loyalty Lie???

1Samuel 20: 42

Then Jonathan said to David, “Go in peace, since we have both sworn in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘May the Lord be between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants, forever.’ ”

The question of loyalty is a big one today. It appears as if the concept and practice of loyalty has been lost and presented as a negative matter to be desired and sought after. When it comes to following the Lord Jesus Christ and committing yourself to the things and people He leads you to, loyalty is of utmost concern. I have witnessed people coming down the isle of church stating they believed the Lord as led them to join the church just to discover in a few weeks or a few months they disappear or choose to go somewhere else to church. I have had some state; “God is leading me on to some place else.” Either God can’t make up His mind concerning our lives or some people are outside of the will of God. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is the latter.

You see what we find today is that people make commitments that are shallow and empty because it is all about “them.” The only important matter is, “What I am feeling” or “What I want,” rather then truly demonstrating loyalty to what God has shown to you and led you to. It is time that we be like Jonathan was to David and vise versa, they had a covenant together and remained loyal, no matter what they felt like or what the consequences might be.

My heart cry’s out today, “Where is your loyalty?”

Just think about that!!!

Love, Pastor Paul
